I built my house four years ago, and I installed Cafà appliances throughout the entire kitchen. Unfortunately, after only about a year, the dishwasher stopped working.
When I contacted Cafà about having it repaired, I was told that the manufacturer™™s warranty had already expired and that I would have to pay for a service technician myself. I scheduled the service, paid for the technician to come out, and the problem still was not resolved.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Cafà appliances. I am extremely disappointed with both the reliability of the dishwasher and the warranty/service experience. When you spend this much money on premium kitchen appliances, you expect the equipment to last longer and the manufacturer to stand behind its products.

This coffee maker replaced our high end Keurig that had both k-cup and carafe. We would grind the beans in the morning in a separate grinder, fill the basket and wait 15 minutes for the coffee, which was ™above average™ in taste. With this coffee maker we put in fresh beans the night before and when we wake up there is a hot, fresh, delicious carafe of coffee waiting for us.

A small learning curve, but after that I have really enjoyed this machine. Brew temp, size, grind - all adjustable! Older grind-and-brew had to be cleaned constantly, but the design of this machine prevents steam from getting into the grinder and the machine stays clean. It took a lot for me to convert from my Moccamaster, but I'm glad I did!

This was our second coffee maker as our first one was replaced after it stopped working. This one stopped working after two months. I love the concept, especially the turning it on from bed, but if it doesn't work and I can't have my coffee and then it™™s just a useless appliance.

When the product was new it ran great and looked great. What a great concept. Over time I noticed some issues. When grounds get into the basket holder it is difficult to clean out. It is also difficult to clean out the bean holder, essentially need to run it empty first. The BIGGEST ISSUE is that the lid for the carafe began to build up mold and gunk. There is no way to clean it out. Also notice some black stains in the inside of the carafe, more than usual. Noticed today that the marks were some coffee stains and some MOLD. I scrub the carafe each day with soap and water and this still occurred. The bronze handle of the carafe is also starting to flake off. The unit is just over 1 year old.

After our daughter brought her friends home for big breakfast, we realized single serve coffee was not ideal. After doing a lot of research we decided that a grind and brew coffee pot was the direction we wanted to go. The Cafe Specialty Grind and Brew looked to hit all of our (wants). It looks awesome and matches our appliance line. The grinder is a little loud but not overly (probably typical for any grinder), but it grinds perfectly and allows for grind choice. The ten cup capacity is fine for our needs and when others join us for breakfast. We like the countdown timer for brewing (our toaster has this also, gives perspective) and the clock letting you know how long it™™s been since finishing the brew. Controls are easy to understand and the App is the same for all of our GE appliances, so it™™s easy to set up your brew selections (Gold setting makes the perfect pot of coffee for us). The only knock, but it™™s the same for most carafes, is that the coffee won™™t stay hot more than a few of hours™¦but normally we finish the pot before that becomes an issue. We read the reviews about leeks after changing the water filter, we have not had that issue. Bottom line, love this Cafe Specially Grind and Brew.

The design is stunning and when you use your own ground coffee, you get fully customzed coffee. BUT there is NO WAY to calibrate the amount of coffee beans used per pot or cup. You can change brew strength all you want, but the amount of beans ground even on ™light™ is still way too much. It consistently makes too strong a coffee. We need to be able to program the grind dose per strength setting. The coffee output is too much at ANY setting! Basically, each 6 oz of coffee made (I've measured the ounces and a cup always comes out as 6 ounces!!) takes 2 Tablespoons of grounds!! WAY TOO MUCH!! We are so dissappointed as otherwise, we love the Cafe Grind and Brew.

Received this as a Christmas gift last month overall I am impressed with the brewing styles and the flavor of my coffee. I love the convenience of the app in getting my coffee set up for the week to brew automatically. A few items I have found since using I would like to mention.
1. There is no heat only or hold function for keeping coffee hot. When it first brews it is perfect however it only last about 45 minutes. After this it is lukewarm at best and requires a heat up in the microwave.
2. Have to manually adjust the setting from carafe to mug if you want to brew a cup only from your phone it is not possible if it on carafe.
3. It uses a lot of water and beans compared to my Ninja from before. I fill up the water reserve every night and I only had to do this on my Ninja every 2-3 days. I am also going through more beans than before. Since I started using it the last 3 weeks I have already had to buy 2 bags of beans size 2.2 pounds. On my previous machine I only bought once a month. This is an added expense I wasn't expecting.
4. My housekeeper accidentally threw away my wire basket and I haven't been able to replace it. I ordered what I thought was a replacement through Amazon and it doesn't fit so the basket will close. There is no replacement part I have found on this website or Amazon.
Overall, I do love the convenience of not having to have two separate appliances on the counter. I like the brewing of the coffee I haven't had so far any leaking issues except when I brewed a pot and that is when I found out my wire basket was gone. You must use some type of filter at all times.

Don™™t do it. It™™s pretty. It looks nice. I fell for it even after reading some bad reviews. Unless they change the engineering of the bean hopper; it won™™t work. I bought one brand new, it wouldn™™t grind. GE sent another, brand new, it wouldn™™t grind. Worse part? You had to turn the entire contraption upside down to empty out the beans. I ordered an entire GE Cafe Suite. I bought this as an add on. Now I™™m nervous, I™™ll be honest.

This machine is great. Once we found the grind time on the app, it became even more perfect. The flavor of fresh ground coffee can not be beat. There are so many options that the perfect cup is possible. We also love the delay brew so we can wake up to the aroma of our freshly ground and brewed perfect cup. The carafe keeps the coffee warm for the better part of 2 hours, more if it is full. The water reservoir is so easy to clean and fill. This matches all of our other Cafe appliances and is a great addition to our kitchen.

This brewer makes pretty good tasting coffee, however, there are some drawbacks. 1) the cost of this brewer is quite expensive. 2) I have only been using this brewer once per day (and NOT every day) for the last 6 months, and despite the fact that I meticulously clean the carafe with EVERY use, it is stained inside and on the plastic lid. 3) It is extremely labor intensive to keep the coffee shute cleaned out so it will function properly. 4) Brewing even a single cup takes at least 4-5 minutes to completely finish and 5) There is no way to use a coffee "pod" with this brewer to simplify. For these reasons, I cannot with good conscience recommend purchasing this particular coffee brewer.... the time required to clean it daily is just more than expected.

Would prefer a larger bean storage hopper. Would also like to be able to adjust the amount of beans that are ground for a pot of coffee, this option is not available and I feel like it grinds more than as needed. I wish I would have read other reviews before I purchased this model. This model is taller and does NOT fit under an average kitchen cabinet. Also, makes a watery mess every time I open the compartment to add coffee grinds which leaks onto my countertop. Coffee will leak out from the last brew every time, regardless of how many hours have past. The grind is very loud. The buttons are sensitive to touch. You must wait for the entire brew before trying to get a cup of coffee. Unit will continue to leak when you remove the carafe or or mug, making another mess on the unit itself. We have already had a unit replaced as water was leaking from underneath the maker onto the counter. Warranty held their promise though and replaced, however still sames issues. MESSY everytime.

The water reservoir base leaks and there are no component parts to fix the issue. The water reservoir tank works fine, it is not leaking when taken off the base, only when I leave it on the reservoir base. I contacted customer support and the solution was to purchase a new machine. For the cost of this machine it would be nice if the component parts could be replaced, instead of the need to purchase an entire new product.

I have been using this GE Cafe grind and brew coffee maker for over one month now. It™™s got a designer appearance (bought the SS). I wanted to get away from using a coffee maker that uses pods due to environmental reasons and I wanted better tasting coffee. This coffee maker accomplishes both. It works as advertised, is easy to use and clean. Coffee stays hot in the carafe for a couple hours (note: I preheat the pot using hot water from my instant hot). I haven™™t used the single brew but once. Next time I do a single I will try it on the bold setting as I didn™™t think the gold setting was strong enough for that. I do use the gold setting for a pot and it tastes great. Overall, no complaints whatsoever ð

The design of this appliance is pretty stunning and gets great compliments from visitors to our home. It makes great coffee and using the app to start the coffee maker from bed is a godsend on most days. The large reservoir ensures I only need to fill it once ever other day and adds to the convenience of the coffee maker.
Now the not so good, cleaning after each use can be challenging. The filter basket is fairly easy to clean. The screw on lid is a chore as a lot of water gets trapped in the lid, so you spend a minute or two shaking all the water out of it. The carafe has a lip where the plastic top is attached to the stainless pot. Water, coffee and dishwashing soap get trapped in that are so extra care is needed to ensure a good clean rinse. There is a small part that attaches to the machine and keeps water from the drip and the coffee grounds separated. This needs to be removed and cleaned at least every other use. Otherwise you will have a bunch of old coffee grounds stuck to it. The filter basket snaps into place on the machine with two small plastic tabs. Needless to say one of the tabs broke off in the first 30-days of use. It still works with one tab intact fortunately.

This product has been nothing but trouble since the day we got it. The machine worked fine for a few months then began to stop grinding the beans. It was replaced with a new one and that one would force you to restart it multiple times in order to brew a pot of coffee. When calling in for help we were run around in a circle for 3 different phone calls until ultimately I was told that they just couldn't do anything to help me. The support person was extremely rude and of course hung up on me when I told her she was being rude.

This is a review and my comments about Cafe Grind and Brew automatic coffee maker with the single serve option and thermal carafe.
My overall assessment is that this is a terrific product. You can make a great cup of coffee with this product. There are a few items I think you should be aware of prior to purchasing.
The device is large. The dimensions on the website are accurate, but I did not comprehend how big it is until I unboxed it and placed it on my counter. It takes up a lot of counter space.
You can make a perfect or near-perfect cup of coffee with the device. You may need to adjust the various settings to accomplish this. There are a lot of potential settings to adjust. Don™™t be surprised if it takes you a while to find your perfect settings for the beans you are using.
Some of the settings are only accessible through the app.
It does not produce crema.
You need to clean out the brew basket after each time you use it. This should not be surprising, but I didn™™t fully understand this prior to purchasing. It is not difficult to clean out the basket, but it can be a pain.
It is likely there will be a few drops of coffee either spilled or splashed between making coffee and cleaning the brew basket. You should have a paper towel handy.
I think the model I obtained may be one level behind the latest. I base this on some numbers on the product. I don't think they have added any new features, but there is one thing that you should be aware of. The water filter part number for the device I have is perpetually out of stock. They don't make it easy to find the replacement part number. This is the replacement part number from their website: C7CGFLTR. I hope that is correct.
I recommend turning on the sound through the app. This gives you a beep when the process is complete. That way you do not have to be looking at the timer that is counting down on the device. It also beeps each time you touch a setting on the panel.
The manufacturer's definition of a cup is 6 ounces. The manufacturer claims you can make 10 cups. Since most people use 8 ounce cups, this may be misleading.
The manufacturer's definition of a cup size is based on the amount of water used in making the cup of coffee. A small amount of water is absorbed by the ground coffee beans. I perceive you actually get 3 to 5 per cent less drinkable coffee.
The claim is that the thermal carafe will hold your coffee warm for up to two hours. This is probably true if you fill the thermal carafe with 10 cups of coffee. The actual time it keeps a single cup of coffee warm at what I consider an acceptable temperature is about one half hour. It keeps coffee acceptably warm for a longer period if you have more coffee in the carafe.
The thermal carafe is smaller than the typical carafe size from a standard Mr. Coffee type coffee maker. You can™™t use the standard sized carafe since it will not fit in the provided space.
A slight upward pressure makes the brew basket closing process much easier.
The documentation recommends cleaning the burr grinder and the sprinkler head, but it doesn™™t tell you how often.
I had a situation where it made a lousy cup of coffee when there were only a few beans left in the hopper. The device is supposed to warn you when it needs more beans. I might have missed it. To avoid this, I always fill the water tank to about two inches above the 10 cup line and I always fill the bean hopper at the same time. I refill both when the water tank fill approaches 2 cups.
It seems to consume more coffee beans than I expected.

My coffee maker broke, and the process of getting a replacement has been a nightmare™"slow, unresponsive customer service and constant back-and-forth with no clear resolution. After weeks of hassle, they finally sent a new one™¦ only to get the color wrong. I ordered black, and they sent white. At this point, I™™m not even bothering to try and fix it because the experience has been so exhausting. I expected better from a premium brand. If this mis-colored replacement breaks I will be complaining to get my full return and will not ever purchase from this company again.

Please do NOT buy this coffee maker. I purchased it December 2023 and have not used it very much at all. It is now giving the ™add water™ message when the water reservoir tank is completely full, and then powers off. I contacted customer service and she informed me that there is nothing they can do since I purchased it over a year ago. I paid full price for this item and you would think if you pay over $300 for a coffee maker, you could expect it to last longer than a year. We also purchased a GE refrigerator, microwave, and air fryer/toaster oven. That will not happen again! We will not sink anymore of our hard earn money into GE/Cafe appliances, just to get no help or support from customer service. We have just purchased a new home and plan to get all new appliances and of course I wanted GE brand, as we had before, but not now! I should have known better than to purchase this item after reading the reviews because there were many of the same complaints on this coffee maker, but I thought it was beautiful and loved the different options so I figured I would take a chance. Now I regret that. Choose another coffee maker unless you don™™t mind throwing money away!

It worked for the first 2 pots of coffee, then (like many others have mentioned), the grinder stopped working. Also the door that holds the coffee filter does not stay closed. We had to tape it closed to use it. On the bright side, it makes the best cup of coffee ever. I expect they will have a factory recall since so many have experienced the same. Our kitchen is 100% cafe.... but for now, we will use the Cuisinart Brew and Grind.

We purchased to match all of our other cafe appliances. Decided it was time to get rid of our previous top of the line coffee maker and try something new and it looked so beautiful and matched our appliances perfectly. What could go wrong? Well, the first week I told my husband the coffee tasted horrible. We tried every setting but each change was just as bad. There is no setting to adjust or select the amount of grind/dose you get so it™™s either very strong with horrible aftertaste or watered down weak coffee. It also doesn™™t keep the coffee hot or warm in the carafe. After the first cup, it™™s getting warm then cold by 3rd cup. This carafe doesn™™t even compare with the carafe that our previous coffee maker had. We would still have hot coffee 3 hrs after brewing. The look of the coffee maker is beautiful and it could™™ve been a home run if they had researched what true coffee lovers love most. I can™™t imagine who actually tested the taste of the coffee when this went through testing. They couldn™™t have been a true coffee lover. I called twice to ask for return and refund but was turned down even though I purchased through the GE Cafe page straight from them. If your own company doesn™™t refund and stand behind your product, that is upsetting. I hope this coffee maker isn™™t a glimpse of the quality we will end up with all of our cafe appliances. We loved the WiFi option and being able to control the coffee maker through the app on our phone. We have all our appliances set up in the app and love all the other appliances. GE let me down on this one, and definitely let us down by not giving us a refund when purchasing directly from them. So essentially we spent a lot of money and have a coffee maker used about 15 times and in original box sitting in our pantry. We went back and bought our original grandmaster coffee maker we had before and the first cup was like heaven.

I have had my Mochamaster for 21 years and have never had to repair or replace it. I purchased the Cafe because it looked nice, had a bean grinder, and people liked the flavor of the coffee. In 6 months of ownership, it has already been replaced by GE once, and I have gone through 3 carafes because of leaks and finish issues. I would not recommend this machine. I tried to add images, but the website would not allow it.

Had just over a year and a few months ago the grinder stopped working. I thought it was the beans but Changed beans and cleaned and I still have to sit and watch it and try to get beans to go in grinder to grind. When I set it to brew in early am it doesn™™t grind much if any and it™™s basically hot water. I™™m very disappointed as I love my kitchen full of cafe appliances but unfortunately this is a miss for me. Not worth the price to hardly work after a year.

Overall, I like but don't love this coffeemaker. We left the Kreuig world because my husband enjoys freshly ground coffee. We also wanted to decrease coffee prices and be able to set the coffee for the next morning. This machine accomplished these goals but left me with other issues. Programing the coffee maker for delayed brew is easy, and the coffee stays hot for quite some time. The machine look is nice, and it's easy to clean. My complaints are that it's not easy to turn off if you accidentally start a pot when trying to set the machine for a later brew. I've had to unplug the machine several times to prevent brewing a pot. Also, finding replacement water filters is not easy. The strength settings are also not accurate, and if they are, there needs to be more information in the instructional guide on brewing the perfect pot. Even after cleaning the inside mechanism, I often find that we will get a weak pot for no known reason. I don't use the mug function because the single cups of coffee are always too weak. Not enough grounds are dropped. I'm sure that every machine has it's pluses and minuses so this pot is probably average to above average in comparison.

Getting coffee grounds all over the counter and it™™s easy to clean. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that we have not been able to figure out how to disable the beep when it begins and finishes a brewing cycle. It is quite loud and wakes the kids up. I would love to know if this is even possible, we haven™™t been able to figure it out!

What a marvelous machine. Bought it for the Gold Cup rating and was throughly blown away by the brewing features. Just add the coffee and water and tell it how many or few cups you want in the carafe, or if you only want to fill your mug. Just as wonderful as kuerig but without those pods, and you get fresh ground coffee made to your specific requirements. Also, the machine looks terrific. Like functional artwork.

I replaced a defective Capresso coffee maker with the Cafe. It is so superior in many ways. The components are much sturdier. It has more customizable features- temperature, strength setting and cup size. Easier to clean and more stylish. Couldn™™t be happier with this unit

It looks like the reviews were correct. Not a good or reliable product. Bought first coffee maker in October of 2023 and it quite working in February 2024. A replacement was sent and that coffee maker only lasted until November 2024 (I did not use it from May until October as we were not here). I was told from the 3rd customer service person that I spoke with that the warranty is only good from when it was first purchased not from when it was replaced. Very disappointing from a fairly expensive purchase. Lesson learned. I did like the features of the coffee maker but it was a very inconsistent cup of coffee. Sometimes more ground coffee dispensed than at other times.

I chose this model for the thermal carafe, conical burr grinder, and automation features. The app and the way it looks on my counter were fantastic bonuses. My first cup brewed into a travel mug tastes great black™¦which says a lot coming from me?

This is a great step forward over cafe appliance™™s first outing with the specialty brewer. I owned that unit and, while it brewed a good cup of coffee, I found it to have some serious design flaws.
The grind and brew unit has resolved the vast majority of those issues while adding a number of conveniences. The removable water tank makes refilling much easier, and sourcing filters/ finding replacement parts has been made dead simple via the in-app help menu. I have experienced any little bit of the drift in the amount of water consumed, and the ability to recalibrate the pump would be appreciated. I have not experienced any of the mold issues that I experienced with the prior model.
The carafe on this model is easier to clean, pours better, and feels more sturdy, though, as some have pointed out, due to the mix of materials, does discolor at different rates (especially on the white model). Frequent and diligent cleaning with specialty coffee cleaners has mitigated this, but will not last forever.
The grinder/programmable brew feature is a great step up. It™™s consolidated my coffee setup on my counter, and ensures a much fresher brew more conveniently in the morning.
The downsides: the unit is very tall, and if you have low cabinets, this may not fit, or in my case, you™™ll have to remember to check the fill level of the hopper regularly, as there is no way to see into it with the unit pushed in under the upper cabinets. Some way of seeing this from the front would be nice. As others have mentioned, I feel that the amount of coffee used per brew is on the heavy side. I haven™™t actually measured the dose compared with the water volume, but even on a 4-cup brew, the basket is pretty full. I know it is difficult to achieve accurate/consistent dosing with time-based grinding - even with dedicated, high end grinders - especially with many users grinding may different types of coffee - but the ability to calibrate or add an offset in the app would be nice (I would point current and potential future owners to the manual as there is a way to pulse additional grounds manually, but that doesn™™t help if there™™s already too much). Additionally, while the upper burr release mechanism is easy to use, it is a bit flimsy, and leads to a lot of play between the two burrs. This leads to a wider grind distribution, especially at finer grind settings, producing a worse cup. Stabilizing the upper burr would help significantly. Adding more steps to the burr adjustment mechanism would also be much appreciated.
Lastly, I really enjoy the single-cup adaptability, but not being able to use paper filters in this mode is a bummer, as I prefer that flavor profile. I™™m not sure if there™™s a way to produce a carrier shaped the same as the single-cup basket that would just hold a paper filter?
I haven™™t experienced any of the failures that any of the other reviewers have with this unit, or the previous model I have owned. Anecdotally I cannot speak to the failure rate or reliability, but in my personal experience this unit works well.
A decent amount of minor engineering or programming tweaks would take this from a very solid coffee maker to probably one of the best on the market. I know some of the choices made are due to value engineering, but this product is targeted at coffee enthusiasts, I feel like we™™d pay the extra 50 for the grinder improvements and calibration control.
