Not happy, inconsistent temperature.

Unhappy with the purchase. Takes a long time to get hot water at the faucet or shower head. Water then becomes much hotter as you shower, so you have to continually monitor and adjust the temperature. Manual calls this layering of the temperature in the tank. Don™€™t care what they call it, I have never had an experience like this ever before.

Damages during Shipping

Looking at all the reviews this seems to be a common theme. With that in mind I examined the cartoon well before leaving the store. No significant visual issue aside from some minor creases in the box. What a mistake. Upon unboxing dents at the bottom and top of the tank and bent pressure relief valve not apparent until the installation was complete. Had to go to Home Depot and get a new valve. What a pain..... Plus another $20 out of pocket. Can't say this is any worse than the reviews from competitors. The GE seem to have less negative complaints than the other big box hardware store options. I guess when it comes to water heaters it's a crapshoot but do yourself a favor and if you possibly can open the box and inspect the unit. It wasn't possible for me cuz I still had to drive it another 30 MI and didn't need it rolling around in the back of my pickup. Caveat mtor

Great water heater

Just installed water heater was very easy. The pilot light fired up on first try so far this product is as good as the reviews stated. The only problem we had was getting it in perfect condition with no dents, It took 2 tries otherwise the GE purchase and delivery was a good !!
