Love the sleekness and look of this stainless steel refrigerator. This refrigerator has the upgraded glass shelving in the fresh food area which adds more sturdiness for the foods that you want to store. The shelves can also be moved. The glass shelves add a sleekness and are easy to clean. There is plenty of room on the refrigerator door for storage. The freezer has a wire shelf which can also be moved. The fresh food area has an LED light which makes everything easy to see and it brightens the area effectively. The refrigerator temperature controls are in the front for easy access. I keep a thermometer in the fresh food area and the refrigerator keeps the temperature at a constant cool temperature and the freezer reached a freezing temperature quickly. The refrigerator/freezer offers enough room for fresh food storage on glass shelving that goes wall to wall, deli meat compartment which slides, climate zone drawers for vegetables and fruit, a compartment for butter and plenty of room on the refrigerator door for storage. Freezer is also roomy and also has extra storage on the door. Stainless steel looks sleek and is easy to clean.

We have an OLD house with original, low hanging cabinets. We had very few options for refrigerators however we™€™re thankful that the ™€œnew version™€ of our very old fridge was available. It™€™s not fancy and we don™€™t need it to be. It fits our family of four™€™s groceries with lots of drawer, door, and shelf space. This fridge is more roomy than you would think. It cooled fast and isn™€™t too noisy.

Fridge & Freezer Temps Controlled by ONE Dial

It makes *zero sense* that the fridge temperature and freezer temperature would be controlled by just one dial. The recommended setting is 3, which literally freezes everything in the freezer solid. But when I turn it down, the fridge is barely cold. It makes logical sense that the freezer temp and fridge temp would be controlled by separate dials - I™€™ve never seen another fridge that just had one dial to control both like this. It makes no sense.

First Time since 1995 I've had new appliances. First time in more than 20 years there is a light in the refrigerator. The refrigerator fit perfect in the slot where the old appliance was. I was told I wouldn't be able to get a refrigerator to fit in that slot any more since the building was built in 1985. But GE made one and it fits perfect !

We purchased this fridge to replace the same model we purchased and had for 18 years. The new one seems roomier inside. We never needed service on the one we replaced, it was making a lot of noise when running and we figured it™€™s time was up and didn™€™t owe us anything. Never got it checked, just replaced.

This fridge is quite handsome but I'm sorry that it lacks the room of my old one (even though the dimensions were the same. Only two shelves on the door will not accommodate our array of condiments so I'm missing the three shelves we had before. The fridge motor is quiet and it is keeping the freezer icy and the box cold.

Freezer doesn't get very cold

There's only one control for both freezer and fridge. I turn the dial to the 3 setting, which is the recommended setting, the freezer only goes to 8 to 10 degrees cold, which is not cold enough for a freezer. If I move the dial to the 4 or 5 setting, the freezer gets to 2 to 4 degrees which is still not cold enough. A freezer should be below 0. Using the 4or 5 setting doesn't make the freezer às cold as it should be, but it makes the refrigerator part very cold to 30 to 32 degrees. In short, this is not a good freezer and the single setting for freezer and fridge is terrible. I have to keep it at 5 to get the freezer as close to 0 as possible, even though the fridge goes to 30 to 32. I used analog and digital thermometers to check the temperature.

Nice looking refrigerator among the small number of options available for this smaller size. Initially, I was concerned because during the first 4 to 5 days the temperature would be in the high 40s and then When I put on a cooler setting drop to below freezing. It took a long time first plugging it in to get it to cool and then stay at a consistent temperature of around 37° on the number four setting. But now it seems to be holding that temperature more consistently. This is kind of a regular issue for top freezer units. I wish it came in the fingerprint resistant stainless steel option. Overall, I am satisfied and glad I can finally get a GE stainless steel refrigerator in this size to match the rest of my GE appliances.

I had an ice maker installed in my new fridge and within 3 weeks it required service as the ice maker wasn™€™t working properly. That required two service calls during my Christmas vacation and the new ice maker had to be replaced. What a pain!
