Good Alternative To Mini Splits and Heat Pumps

So we've used this unit for a couple months now. Actually bought two to cool the entire house, one unit on first floor the other on second floor. We decided to spend $1,300 including tax and delivery from Lowe's rather than 15K for heat pumps. We have no need for heat. We burn wood during the winter with a backup fhw oil burning boiler. Several people i know have had issues with heat pumps. Fortunately many were covered by warranty. They're lighter than my last 14k btu window units. Definitely do a better job of cooling. They're very quiet compared to any other window unit I've owned. The Eco mode works great on humid days up to 90°. On mid 90 days we initially run on high for a few hours then drop back to eco mode. They're smart and I can control on my phone with a GE smart app. Obviously a game changer. If you leave home for a few days you can turn the unit on a few hours before your return and the house is comfortable when you arrive. These units are very efficient. I'm running two in place of one for less money. For us, they made way more sense as we dont need pumps. In many states to get the tax break and rebate on heat pumps you have to remove your fossil fuel burning furnace. Heat pumps don't work so great with New England winter temperatures.

The a/c unit is very quiet and cools our living room and kitchen well. Weve had numerous days of upper 90s and it keeps the temperature in the house within two degrees of the thermostat. The installation was quick and easy.

We liked this unit so much we bought another for upstairs. They are quiet running and cool very well with no vibration. I've not seen much change in our electric bill over the last few months and they've been running a lot with this really hot summer. Our son installed both units so I don't know how hard installation would be. We are very happy with these air conditioners.

We first bought the competitors similar unit. It was not easy to install and several plastic parts broke. We got two of the GE units. They installed easily and cool to our liking. We have HVAC but are dealing with mold so we needed something fast. These keep us cool on these hot Texas days.

Bought this air conditioner for my upstairs room. The room often gets above 80°F. I am extremely happy with the quality of the product received. The air conditioning is quiet. I really like the app and ease of turning the unit on and off through WiFi. My favorite feature is the electricity usage shown through the app. You can see the savings from using an old style unit vs the inverters. It is worth the extra money to save over time.

The unit is bigger than expected and more noisy than advertised. Pretty sure the fan blade is not balanced either. I would Have taken it back if I had help. Also review Lows return policy on window units. They say 30 days it™€™s a lie. It does blows cool or, but for how long questioning its quality even more. The connectivity, the wire is short, not that efficient. Get something lighter, cheaper, and better. Plus review the ™€œcoverage™€

Our HVAC went up and bought this unit to cool the main living area of our 1500 sq foot home. This unit easily and quickly cools. Due to its ability to shut off on its own when it hits the set temp it has saved us a lot on electric bills. My only issue is that when it starts up it makes a weird sound that I have never heard on an AC unit.

This GE air conditioner is fantastic! The install is super easy and comes with everything you need, with gap extension covers. It's big and heavy but not so much it's unmanageable. It works fantastic, and it's a little powerhouse and the quiet mode is GLORIOUS while still pushing plenty of air!! Has a handy little remote with a wifi connection option. For a midsize room window unit, this one is great! Our household loves it.

I live in Central California, where it™€™s extremely hot. We do install window ac units in our windows when the heat starts climbing to the hundreds and up. This is going to work perfectly in our room. My husband took it out of the box and we plugged it in and it is a solid piece. It is heavy, so I do recommend two people trying to set it up that way one person doesn™€™t bear all the burden of the weight. What I really like is the option options to have it connected to your Alexa device. I can be anywhere and tell my Alexa to turn on the AC unit that way you can cool down the room ahead of time. It™€™s very sleek and design and is not an eyesore. It does get cool quite quickly, which is great and I love that. There™€™s an option for a quiet noise reducing option. I felt that when it was off it was already pretty quiet for an AC unit but once you push the button for the quiet option, it does quiet down. I wouldn™€™t say it™€™s enough to not hear it because you can hear it. It™€™s more like a soft white noise sound. The efficiency of it cooling down a room was pretty fast. I would say within 20 minutes. The whole room felt a lot cooler. Overall, it seems like a great piece to have and we can™€™t wait to use it for summertime.

Great performance in a non-insulated space

Installation was straightforward and easy. The unit fit perfectly in my office/shed window. I would recommend two people installing since it is heavy. Once running the airflow was strong and cooled down the space very fast. Even without insulation, it managed to keep the area cool in 90° weather. This unit is extremely quiet, even when it™€™s not in quiet mode. One thing to keep in mind: if you have a wider window, this may not be for you. Overall, I™€™m satisfied with the performance, and I can™€™t wait to see how it does with the fully insulated space.
